You
Desire a change.
Have a dream
But too many trains have already left the station.
The big changes you desire seem too hard and would risk creating regrets.
Me
I’ve been there. I tried all the guru inspo and every methodology.
I was left inspired but still stuck with too much on my plate.
But life’s minutes were ticking by with my higher purpose still undone.
So I built a set of bite-sized actionable tools that could pile-drive my goals through the muck of a busy life.

This series of crisp, simple steps actually worked in real life.
I call it KindEdge.
It’s not gonna be easy, but it’s gonna be fun.
So, hello and welcome. I look forward to walking side by side with you on this journey.
Hi. I’m Mary.
I’m a writer, vlogger, speaker, corporate communications change management consultant, dog-mom, human-mom, and a bunch of other things … just like you.
I’m not a coach or guru. I am simply a truther. I built this website to document the tools I developed to drive transformational change in my life.
I’d wasted too many dollars and decades investing in experts, books, counselors, coaches, methodologies and retreats that all failed.
I was like - WTF.
I refused to waste more precious minutes without seeing results.
So I channeled my corporate change management skills into the project of me. I broke complex transformation down into a series of clear, crisp, doable, bite-sized tasks. Each step ends with one clear decision and a “hook” to the next step. That chain, unbroken, drives results in real life.
These KindEdge steps worked when all other guru inspo failed.

The Fan Club
A big part of KindEdge is throwing out the idea that what works for others, or what others preach, will work for you.
We begin to live by this one core tenet: do what works in real life.
Because there is no one-size-fits-all for the processes, practices, systems, diets, habits, or regimens that work for you, we’ve assembled this growing list of people and resources that we cheer for. KindEdge is a fan of all these makers of great ideas. And as you experiment, you can let us know of more resources we can add to this Fan Club page.

No G-Damned Strings on Me: The Curling Mindset for Protecting Your Life's Purpose From Chaos
For twenty years I let chaos makers pull my strings and called it responsibility. The curling mindset changed everything: keep your eyes out in front of you, sweep the path toward what you are actually building, and give the chaos the minimum attention required to untie from it. In this post I share the doughnut vs. hole framework, the Christmas party moment that finally cut my strings, and why a crisis is never a reason to stop building — it is a reason to accelerate.

The Most Underrated Trap in a Life Well Lived
Being good at something is not the same as being called to it. In this post, I make the case that competence is one of the most underrated traps in a life well lived, why your energy tank is the most honest signal you have, and what Stephen King and Emily Dickinson have to teach us about not letting aptitude lock you into the wrong life.

How Do You Stay on Track With a Big Goal When Real Life Keeps Blowing Up Your Plan?
I built the perfect plan on January first. Then real life happened — one task ballooned into a months-long rabbit hole, the gym bag collected dust, and I kept labeling myself a failure for not hitting deadlines I never should have set. In this post, I share why the perfect plan is the problem, how to build a system that actually survives the long game, and why your time crunch is the best diagnostic signal you have.
